When you open Prime Video on a smart TV you might see one of two activation links: amazon.com/mytv or primevideo.com/mytv. Both work, but the one your TV shows depends on your country and how you subscribed. Here is the difference and how to pick the right one.

Short answer

  • amazon.com/mytv is the classic link for anyone who has a full Amazon Prime membership.
  • primevideo.com/mytv is used in countries where Prime Video is sold as a standalone streaming service without Prime shipping.
If you type amazon.com/mytv and it redirects to primevideo.com/mytv, that is normal.

When to use amazon.com/mytv

Use amazon.com/mytv if:
  • You have Amazon Prime with shipping benefits.
  • Your Amazon account was created in the US, UK, Canada, Germany, India, Japan, or another Prime-eligible country.
  • Your TV clearly shows the amazon.com/mytv URL.

When to use primevideo.com/mytv

Use primevideo.com/mytv if:
  • You subscribed only to Prime Video (no shipping).
  • You live in a country where Amazon does not sell Prime shipping.
  • Your TV shows the primevideo.com/mytv URL.

Do the codes work on both sites?

No. A code generated for amazon.com/mytv will not work on primevideo.com/mytv, and vice versa. Always match the URL displayed on your TV.
If you are unsure, type amazon.com/mytv first. Amazon will redirect you to primevideo.com/mytv if your account requires it.
