Before you can watch a single episode on Prime Video, you need to register your TV at amazon.com/mytv and link it to an Amazon account. If you are new to Amazon, you will also need to create a free account first. This guide covers both: creating your Amazon Mytv account and registering any streaming device at amazon.com/mytv.

What is an Amazon Mytv account?

An Amazon Mytv account is simply your regular Amazon account used to activate Prime Video on smart TVs and streaming devices through amazon.com/mytv. The same login gives you access to:
  • Prime Video movies and shows
  • Prime shipping benefits
  • Amazon Music and Kindle books
  • Device management from amazon.com/mytv
You do not need a separate Mytv account. One Amazon account works everywhere.

Troubleshooting Amazon Mytv account setup

Some brand new accounts need email verification first. Open your inbox, click the Amazon verification link, and retry amazon.com/mytv.
On amazon.com/mytv click Forgot password, enter your email or mobile number, and follow the reset link. Then re-enter the code from your TV.
Prime Video is available in most regions but not everywhere. If your country is missing, visit primevideo.com to check availability, then return to amazon.com/mytv.
Keep your phone nearby. Amazon will send a one-time password before letting the new device register.

Security tips for your Amazon Mytv account

  1. Turn on two-step verification in Login and security.
  2. Never share your amazon.com/mytv 6-digit code with anyone.
  3. Review linked devices every few months at Content and Devices > Devices.
  4. Set a Prime Video PIN so registered TVs cannot buy content without approval.
